SINDHOSFIL/SP -

Union of Santas Houses and Philanthropic Hospitals of São Paulo

More than two decades of operation

In 1988, the Federal Constitution of Brazil was implemented and systematized the hierarchical structure of union representation in Brazil, at the same time consecrating the principles of uniqueness and state interference and intervention in the organization of unions.

In this scenario was founded the Union the Union of Santas Casas and Philanthropic Hospitals of the State of São Paulo ( SINDHOSFIL/SP ), which represents, exclusively, the interests of Holy Houses and Philanthropic Hospitals of the State of São Paulo.

The creation of this entity marked the beginning of independence in labor legal representativeness of non -profit health institutions. However, the union faced some challenges at the beginning of its foundation, as it lived a long dispute with the employer union of health facilities, which were linked all health facilities in the state of São Paulo, philanthropic or not.

Only in 1998, after the Federal Supreme Court's decision giving cause to SINDHOSFIL/SP , the Santas Houses and Philanthropic Hospitals The non -profit hospitals from São Paulo gained specific employer union representativeness.

SINDHOSFIL/SP has as its main feature the search for the equalization of the employer-employment relationship in the philanthropic health sector, which has unique characteristics, different from other establishments in the sector.

Holy houses, which are responsible for more than 1/3 of the Unified Health System - SUS hospital beds, meet increasing demand with insufficient funding. No wonder the organs of all government spheres consider them “the right arm” of public health in Brazil.

In this sense, through intense work and dedication of all who made up and integrate their directive and legal staff, SINDHOSFIL/SP has achieved many important achievements for their affiliates, such as collective agreements, legal assistance, training, specialization, undergraduate and MBA.

Currently, the union has 435 cities in its territorial base in São Paulo. From 2003, Sindosfil was dismembered and four more regional, independent and autonomous unions were created, each serving, on average, 60 municipalities. They are: Sindosfil from Presidente Prudente and Region, Sindosfil from Ribeirão Preto and Region, Sindosfil of Paraíba Valley, North and High Mantiqueira and Sindosfil of Baixada Santista and North and South Coast, as well as Sindosfil São Paulo.
